                                      Statement of Work
                                            for
                                        "J + Solutions"

        U Can Swim, Inc. is an aquatic training and managing corporation which was started 
in May 1995 by Benjamin Lee Sparks.  Under his vision, U Can Swim, Inc. has achieved great 
strides by offering affordable aquatic training and management.  It has come to the 
attention of "J + Solutions" that the services U Can Swim, Inc. offer can be significantly 
improved if the business was automated.  Essentially, an interface in Visual Basic  and 
a database in Access is to be created that connects and saves all the information pertain-
ing to the business.  Reports would be generated in Crystal Reports which displayed the 
data in a nice format.

Background
	U Can Swim, Inc. opens up the opportunity for the family participants to enjoy and
expand mentally, physically and socially.  The company offers four general aquatic training 
programs:  Pre-Natal, PITTAP, Intermediate level, and advanced level.  Pre-Natal Aquatic 
programming is specifically geared to expected mothers from first to third trimesters.  The
Parent Infant Toddler Training Aquatic Program, PITTAP, introduces a family oriented program 
design for smaller children and parent(s) to learn how to swim.  The intermediate level is 
for slightly older children and their parent(s). Finally, the advanced level is a continua-
tion of the family oriented activity theme.
	U Can Swim, Inc. operates with the "paper and pen" method.  Essentially, manuals 
were created which contain water safety instruction and another manual with the 
forms for business operation.  An automated system is greatly needed.

Problem
	U Can Swim, Inc., a swimming pool management agency, needs a more efficient way of 
keeping up with all the data it collects.  

Solution
	In close consultation with U Can Swim, Inc. "J + Solutions" will completely automate 
the administrative aspect of U Can Swim, Inc. by developing a system which keeps track of 
vital business activity and produces nice reports.   An interface according to U Can Swim, 
Inc. specifications will be created in Visual Basic.  It will connect to a database 
which will be created in Access.  Reports will be generated in Crystal Reports.

Time Frame
	The estimated start date for Phase I, development of the database  UCSWIMNET , is 
March 17, 2001.  Its completion date will be April 17, 2003.  Phase II, development of the 
interface in VB will start April 20, 2003. Its estimated completion date is May 20, 2005.  
Phase III, development of reports in Crystal Reports will start May 25, 2005 and end 
June 25, 2006.  Testing, Phase IV will start at the inception of Phase I  and will end July
25, 2006. Roll-out will be August 25, 2008.

Changes to System
	All changes to the system will have to go through Joseph Leon Sparks, Chief 
Consultant of "J + Solutions".  It will then be at his discretion to determine if the changes 
can be implemented.  All changes, though will have to come to his attention by Benjamin Lee
Sparks, President of U Can Swim, Inc.
